How to play Drift Bang
Every control, every scoring rule, how the campaign and the garage work, and the tactics that separate a 20,000-point run from a 200,000-point one.

The game pauses itself if you switch browser tab, so you won't come back to a wreck.
Campaign and endless
The start screen offers three doors. Campaign is 12 missions run in order, each with its own objective list; Endless Race is the open run with no goals and no end but the wreck; Garage is where you pick which of the 6 cars you drive in either mode.
A mission completes the moment every objective on the panel in the bottom-left is met — you do not have to survive to a finish line. Objectives are drawn from distance, near-miss count, nitro cells collected, total drift seconds, peak combo, banked score and top speed. Some missions also carry a limit: a collision budget or a countdown. Breaking a limit ends the run immediately, so on those missions the panel shows your remaining headroom rather than a progress bar.
Passing any mission earns a bronze medal; beating the silver and gold score thresholds in the same run earns the better one. Five missions hand you a new car. The missions and cars page lists every objective, limit, threshold and reward.
Choosing a car
Cars are mechanically different, not cosmetically. Each one carries six multipliers applied live to the simulation:
- Speed scales the stage's speed cap, so a fast car raises the ceiling on every stage at once.
- Accel scales how quickly you reach that cap from a standing start or after a collision.
- Grip scales the speed at which the tyres let go. High grip means the car turns where a loose car would slide — which is faster, but earns less drift score.
- Body divides all incoming damage, from collisions and from running the verge alike.
- Nitro scales boost strength, refill rate and how far a full tank goes.
- Drift scales points earned per second of slide.
The practical read: take the Canyon Bull into anything with a collision limit you keep failing, the Nightfall R into drift and combo missions, the Ion Wisp where you need to recover speed constantly, and the Apex One only once you can hold a clean line.
Scoring
- Distance: 0.55 points per metre, multiplied by 1.5 while nitro is burning.
- Drifting: points accrue continuously while the car is sliding, scaled by your current speed and multiplier.
- Near miss: 120 points × multiplier for passing traffic inside roughly one car's width at higher speed than the other car.
- Nitro cell: 250 points × multiplier, plus 34 nitro and 5 chassis integrity.
- Multiplier: rises one step per sustained drift or near miss, up to ×8. It resets to ×1 after 2.2 seconds without a qualifying action, and instantly on any collision.
The drift model
Grip is a function of speed: the faster you go, the less lateral authority the tyres have. Below roughly 100 mph the car simply turns. Above it, a firm steering input breaks traction and the car starts to slide, which is what the game counts as a drift.
Sustaining the slide for about nine tenths of a second banks one multiplier step and refills nitro at roughly 13 points per second. The practical technique is to enter a bend wide, break traction on turn-in, then feather opposite steering to hold the angle rather than fighting the slide straight.
Chassis and damage
You begin each run with 100 chassis integrity and there are no extra lives. Running onto the verge costs about 7 per second and scrubs speed; a collision costs roughly 0.42 per unit of closing speed, so a rear-ender at similar speed is survivable while a high-speed hit into slow traffic is often fatal. Nitro cells are the only source of repair, which makes the blue octahedrons worth crossing a lane for even when you're full on nitro.
Stage by stage
- Stage 1 — Neon Harbour (0–2.6 km)
- Speed cap 92 m/s, light traffic. Use it to bank multiplier steps on the long sweeping bends while there's room to make mistakes.
- Stage 2 — Dust Canyon (2.6–5.2 km)
- Brighter and faster at 100 m/s. Visibility is good, so this is the best stage to spend nitro on long straights.
- Stage 3 — Pine Pass (5.2–7.8 km)
- 108 m/s and denser traffic through tighter scenery. Near-miss opportunities come thick and fast; the multiplier rarely needs to drop here.
- Stage 4 — Midnight Mile (7.8–10.4 km)
- Ambient light falls away and you're largely reading the road by headlights and radar. Lean on the top-right radar panel rather than the horizon.
- Stage 5 — Sunset Coast (10.4 km onward)
- 126 m/s cap with maximum traffic density, and it runs indefinitely. Most personal bests are made — and ended — in the first kilometre of this stage.
Five tactics that actually work
- Never run nitro dry. Keep a reserve above about 25 so you always have an escape burst when traffic closes a gap.
- Corner exits over corner entries. Nitro spent accelerating out of a bend earns more distance points than the same nitro spent on a straight.
- Hunt near misses deliberately. Two near misses maintain the multiplier as effectively as a long drift and cost no speed.
- Read the radar, not the road. From stage 3 onward the radar gives you around four seconds of warning; the horizon gives you less than two.
- Lift off before you're forced to. A controlled 20 mph reduction into heavy traffic keeps the multiplier alive; a collision does not.
Performance and troubleshooting
The game targets 60 fps and adapts to whatever frame rate your device delivers — the physics are time-scaled, so a slower device races at the same speed, just less smoothly. If performance is poor, leave full screen, close other tabs, and check that hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser settings. If you see a "WebGL unavailable" message, graphics acceleration is switched off or blocked by your device policy.
